Day Fourteen - Day Seventeen

7-2-11 - 7-5-11

Santa Fe

We started driving towards Santa Fe and ended up sleeping at a rest stop because we found out our camp spot was closed along with every other camping site in the Santa Fe National Forest due to the fires. So we woke up and ended up finding a camping site close to town and spent the next two days eating the best food and hanging around Santa Fe.

Day Fourteen

Flagstaff

7-2-11

Woke up at the Grand Canyon and packed up our campsite. Headed back into Flagstaff and got something eat then decided to check out this place I read about at the visitors center called the  Lava River Cave. It was a mile long cave that was about 40 degrees.

Day Thirteen

Grand Canyon

7-1-11

We planned on hiking the Bright Angel Trail so we drove down and got something to eat and headed down the trail. It was really hot and once we got down their the view wasn’t much better then at the top so we filled up our water bottles and started the long uphill hike and as soon as we started up the trail a Desert Bighorn Sheep walked right out in front of us which made the hike worth it. Then we went back to a few lookout points and watched the sunset again and star gazed.

Day Twelve

Grand Canyon

Drove through the night stopping for a little bit of sleep and then we made it to the Grand Canyon. We got a camp site at the Desert View Campground set it up and then headed over to the visitors center and checked out the watch tower and watched the sunset at a look out point.

Day Eleven

San Diego

6-29-11

Woke up and ate a delicious duck sausage for breakfast then we hit up Old Town San Diego and ended the night with an awesome farmers market at Ocean Beach.

Day Ten

San Diego

6-28-11

After spending half the day in LA we made the drive down to San Diego and hit up a couple beaches then ate some of the best fish tacos at South Beach Bar & Grill and eventually ended up sleeping in the car.
